Camden-Rockport police investigate two car thefts, business burglary
CAMDEN – Police have not determined if the crimes are related, but two cars were stolen from driveways April 21 during the night, one in downtown Camden, the other on Mechanic Street in Camden.
The downtown Camden vehicle had been left running while its driver was taking groceries into the house from the car, sometime around 10 p.m.
The Mechanic Street car had been left unlocked with the keys in the ignition, said Camden-Rockport Police Chief Randy Gagne. That car was taken sometime late in the evening or in the early morning hours.
The vehicles were later recovered, one at the Goose River Golf Course in Rockport, and one in Rockland.
Camden Detective Sgt. Aaron Bailey and Camden Patrol Officer Mark Bennett are investigating the car thefts.
Another investigation is also underway, this one concerning an April 27 burglary at Margo Moore Interiors, an Elm Street shop. That took place during the overnight hours.
“We are compiling a list of the items taken,” said Gagne.
Camden Police Lt. Micheal Geary and Rockport Patrol Officer Celjeta Bixhaku are investigating that burglary.
