Camden keeps French and Lookner on Select Board
CAMDEN — With 684 registered voters turning out to cast votes Tuesday, June 9, elections closed and the town learned that the makeup of the Select Board will remain the same for at least another year.
The results are as follows:

John French - 356
Leonard Lookner - 314
Marc Ratner - 192
Sally Russillo - 245
Incumbents French and Lookner easily won the election, earning another three years on the Camden Select Board.
Running unopposed, Lynda Chilton garnered 490 votes for a three-year term on the MSAD 28/CSD 19 School Board.
There were 37 write-in candidates for the three-year seat on the Personnel Board and the winner, with eight votes, was Steve Melchiskey.
Article 3 passed, 392 Y to 212 N; while both Article 4 and Article 5 failed, 303 Y to 312 N and 290 Y to 321 N respectively. Articles 4 and 5 pertained to eliminating the ability to apply for low impact uses in either the Traditional Village District (V) or Village Extension District (VE).
Camden voters passed both school budgets Tuesday, voting 529 in favor and 132 opposed to the Five Town CSD budget for 2015-2016 and 534 in favor and 133 opposed for the MSAD 28 budget.
According to Town Clerk Katrina Oakes, there are about 3,800 registered voters in Camden, making Tuesday’s turnout 17-percent.
