A celebration of life for Bonnie Dickey, 74, who died peacefully, December 15, 2021, will be held Monday, June 13, 2022, at 10 a.m., at the Dickey Family home, 45 East Boston Road, Vinalhaven.

VINALHAVEN — Bonnie Dickey, 74, died peacefully, holding the hand of her beloved husband, on December 15, 2021 at Pen Bay Medical Center due to complications of COVID.
Born in Auburn, June 13, 1947, she was the daughter of Bernard and Verna Brayley Sudds.
Bonnie spent her career as an elementary school teacher, teaching first grade at Western Avenue and Sherwood Heights School in Auburn.
In June of 1994, Bonnie moved to Vinalhaven upon her retirement with her husband, James Dickey. Jimmy and Bonnie had been married in Las Vegas prior to moving to Vinalhaven. Bonnie enjoyed island living, collecting things, traveling, taking care of her ‘fur babies,’ watching the birds at her home and gardening.
She was a kind and loving person and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Predeceased by her parents, Bonnie is survived by her husband, James Dickey of Vinalhaven; five children; and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at the family home on Monday, June 13. More information will be published when it becomes available.
