Knox County voters Tuesday voted in favor of incumbent Democrat Chellie Pingree of North Haven in her 1st District race. All towns in the county voted in favor of Pingree over her challenger, Jon Courtney, nearly all by wide margins. Pingree declared victory with nearly 66 percent of the vote with three-quarters of the district’s 168 precincts reporting by around 1 a.m.. This will be Pingree's third two-year term representing the 1st District. The final vote tally as of 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, with Hope the lone town unreported, was 14,211 to 6,505.

In Waldo County, voters favored Democrat Mike Michaud over Republican Kevin Raye in the 2nd District race. The final vote tally in Waldo County was 9,371 to 6,772, with the city of Belfast, Knox and Waldo yet unreported. According to state reports, Michaud had garnered 112,590 votes (58 percent) to Raye’s 80,808 votes (42 percent) by about 12:45 a.m Wednesday, clinching the win.
