Mowrey-Johnson, wedding announcement
CAMDEN — Laura Selene Mowrey and Peter Ingraham Johnson were married March 29, 2014, at Chestnut Street Baptist Church in Camden. The Rev. Adam Kohlstrom performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Judy Mowrey of Sunnyvale, Calif. The groom is the son of Dwight and Lynn Johnson of Rockport.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Maggie Sottero wedding gown and carried tokens from her maternal and paternal grandmothers. Maid of honor was Marina Mowrey of Castro Valley, Calif., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sascha Mowrey of Nashville, Tenn., sister of the bride; Emily Lafleur of Plymouth Mass., sister of the groom; Katie Teresi of San Jose, Calif.; and Nicole Hawkes of Camden.
Adam Lafleur of Plymouth, Mass., brother-in-law of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Kyle Manning of Portland, Mike Miller of Denver, Colo., Sam Higgins of Warren and Ned Bennington of Lincoln Park, N.J.
Mira Van Scheepstall of The Hague, Netherlands, Layla Downs of Hampden and Celia Johnson of Standish were the flower girls. Music was provided by pianist Sybil Wentworth and guitarist Phil Clement, with a clarinet solo by Emily Lafleur. Scripture and poetry readings were by Stephanie Misson of San Jose, Calif. Candelighter was Sarah Schramke of Minneapolis, Minn.
A reception was held at the Summit at Point Lookout Resort.
Laura is a 2001 graduate of Homestead High School in Cupertino, Calif. She received a bachelor's degree in communications with minors in public relations and political science from the University of Maine in Orono in 2005. She earned a master's of business administration in international hospitality and tourism management from Cesar Ritz Colleges in Brig, Switzerland, in 2007. She is employed by the Lord Camden Inn and Grand Harbor Inn.
Peter is a 2003 graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in music from Messiah College in Grantham, Pa., in 2007. He earned a master's degree in communication from the University of Maine in Orono in 2009. He is employed by Ingraham Associates, a real estate appraisal company started by his grandfather.
The couple resides in Rockport.
