WALDOBORO — Geraldine ‘Gerri’ M. Sawyer, 79, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on March 14, 1946, in Rockland, Maine, to Ralph and Mildred (Erwin) Thompson. She grew up in Rockland and attended local schools, graduating from Rockland High School.

Gerri spent many years working at Lie Nielsen Toolworks in Warren alongside her daughter Tammy. Family meant everything to Gerri; she cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. You could also find her indulging in her favorite hobbies like shopping and crafting.

Gerri is predeceased by her parents and her loving husband, Richard Sawyer.

She leaves behind her children: Troy Sawyer and companion Jen Hanley of Wiscasset, Tammy O’Donnell and husband Sean of Waldoboro, and Tracy Sawyer of Greenville; as well as her grandchildren, Kerry O’Donnell and companion Hunter Bellanger of Lincolnville, Trevor O’Donnell and wife Meg of Waldoboro, Belle Sawyer and fiancé Keyden Leeman, and Ben Sawyer of Nobleboro, along with her great-grandchildren, Blake and Brennoch O’Donnell, Mason Van Horn and Jack Bellanger.

A graveside service will be held for Gerri on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery on Patterson Mill Road in Warren.
