Dale A. Hutchinson, obituary
FRANKFORT — Dale A. Hutchinson, 68 of Frankfort, Maine, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer on July 2, 2025. He was born in Blue Hill on March 26, 1957, and was a staple of the surrounding communities of Stockton Springs, Searsport and Belfast.
Better known as “Coach” for over 20 years in multiple recreation departments, he took great pride in sharing his love of basketball with the littles and took great pride in knowing these kids went on to play at high school level with many accomplishments.
He loved summers going camping. Story time from the previous weekend's adventure was told around the fire and if you had the opportunity to sit and hear the stories, you surely had a great memory with him. He loved taking trips to watch his daughter race at local tracks and absolutely loved going to a Red Sox game with his son and nephew Tiger. He was an avid Cowboys fan and so much more.
Dale’s humor, scowl, endless banter and his way of always managing to make you smile was so powerful and will be sorely missed. He left fingerprints on hearts and memories that will last a lifetime.
He is survived by his son Chadwick Hutchinson, wife Tabitha, grandchildren Kathleen, Carter and Cassidy; his daughter Betty Nelson, husband David, grandchildren Joshua (Bub) Connor, Zackary and great grandchildren Colby Thibodeau, Anaya and Gabriel Nelson; brother Chuz Hutchinson, partner Karla Raymond, nephew Michael and Jake, niece April; sister Laurie Rhodes, husband Gary, niece Toots, nephew Jeffrey; sister Lucy Pikul, nephew Stanley III; many great nieces, nephews and one extra special daughter, Sheila Schultz.
He is predeceased by his parents, Evelyn and Everett Hutchinson; grandson Cooper; nephew Everett III (Tiger); brother Joe Potter; and brother-in-law Stanley Pikul Jr.
We would like to thank Maura and Stephanie at Maine Health Waldo Hospital for such compassionate care of our dad in his final days.
