Support Reagan Paul in her bid for reelection to Maine House of Representatives
As a member of the RSU 22 school board, I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Reagan Paul’s reelection to the Maine House of Representatives. In my role on the school board, I have seen firsthand the challenges our education system faces, and I believe Reagan is exactly the kind of leader we need to address these issues head-on.
Maine’s education ranking has recently fallen to 37th in the nation—a troubling sign that our students are not receiving the quality of education they deserve. Reagan understands that we must refocus on the basics—ensuring our students master essential skills like reading, writing, and mathematics. Her commitment to educational excellence is unwavering, and she knows that with the right policies, Maine can reverse this decline and provide every child with the foundation they need to succeed.
Reagan is also a strong advocate for school choice, which I believe is critical for meeting the diverse needs of our students. By supporting policies that allow families to choose the best educational path for their children, Reagan empowers parents and ensures that all students have access to the opportunities that best suit their individual needs. I believe that competition drives individual schools to seek ways to improve their educational product and represent the unique community which makes up their district.
The one-size, fits all mentality which is being pushed down from the federal and state levels will not work in a state as vast and economically diverse as Maine. Reagan understands that the legislature needs to set learning standards which allow each district to tailor their styles and methods to meet the needs of students within their own community, giving back the power to those who know their students best, not politicians in Augusta and not millionaires in Portland.
In addition to her educational priorities, Reagan has demonstrated a deep commitment to fiscal responsibility. She has championed efforts to return funds to our towns, allowing local communities to better allocate resources where they are most needed. This approach benefits and strengthens our entire community. Reagan also understands that federal and state dollars need to come with no strings attached. In smaller communities like ours, taking state funding which then requires thousands and millions more to be spent are not helpful and are choking the small towns of Maine.
Finally, Reagan has been a tireless advocate for parental rights, ensuring that parents have a strong voice in their children’s education. She understands that parents know what’s best for their kids and has fought to make sure their voices are heard and respected in educational decisions.
Reagan Paul has proven herself to be a dedicated and effective representative, and I firmly believe that her reelection is crucial for the future of our education system and our community. I urge my fellow citizens to support Reagan Paul in her bid for reelection to the Maine House of Representatives.
