Riley School welcomes new member to Board of Trustees
ROCKPORT — The Riley School welcomes Christine Chamberlain back to its Board of Trustees after many decades of involvement with the school in several capacities.
Chamberlain first became involved with Riley when she and her husband produced a book about the school and its history in 2010. She served on the Board under Riley School founder Glenna Wade Plaisted, and later under the chairmanship of Board President Whitney Oppersdorff. Recently, she was involved in the search committee for a new Head of School.
Growing up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Chamberlain attended Cambridge School of Weston, where she has been very active over the years. After graduating from Wellesley College, she went overseas, where she lived and worked as a journalist for 25 years. In 1997, she started Camden Writers, which produces oral histories for families, companies, and organizations.
Chamberlain deeply values the benefits of progressive education from her 12 years at Cambridge School, and is pleased to have the opportunity to encourage a similarly rich and beneficial education for the students at Riley.
