Demetra Bread expands sourdough bread bakery
APPLETON — Demetra Bread, an artisan, sourdough bread bakery, has expanded its sourdough bread bakery.
After just a year in business, Demetra Bread has expanded its capabilities with the addition of a new oven, bread slicer and other bakery equipment.
“The addition of this equipment will expand the capacity of what we can produce without losing our roots in making artisanal, natural sourdough bread,” said Demetra, in a news release. “The additional equipment will allow us to keep up with the increasing demand for our bread as well as expand our product line.”
As a small-scale bakery, Demetra says it can create artisanal baked goods with a personal touch that can't be replicated by larger operations. Operating on a smaller scale also means focusing on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, which is a big draw for customers who prioritize sustainability and supporting local businesses, according to the business. However, this also means facing challenges such as limited space and resources and finding a balance between meeting demand and maintaining the integrity of the products. The addition of this new equipment will allow Demetra to maintain the integrity of the products while continuing to expand its capacity.
“There are a lot of steps involved in creating quality bread with traditional methods,” said Demetra’s owner. “This new equipment will be a second pair of hands in the bakery and will allow us to continue to create the same quality bread while expanding how much we can provide to the community.”
