LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Training to be offered at Strand Theatre, Feb. 14
ROCKLAND — The Strand Theatre will host “Main St, Maine: Building Welcoming and Inclusive Businesses and Public Spaces,” a free training session for business and community members, on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m., at the theater. The training will be presented by OUT Maine. Registration on the Strand’s website is recommended.
Do you want to put a rainbow flag up, but want to make sure that your staff and space are equipped to support and protect LGBTQ+ youth? How can you assess your location for LGBTQ+ inclusion? This training will provide participants with an overview of terminology, rights and laws, and will focus on how to create a welcoming and supportive workplace, how to back up your "safe space" sticker with tangible actions, and how to constructively address community push-back.
OUT Maine, located in Rockland, provides support and services for LGBTQ+ youth and families, and educational training for businesses, organizations, schools, and community members.
