Transportation history is spooky fun at Owls Head’s Night at the Museum

On Saturday, Oct. 28 the exhibition halls at the Owls Head Transportation Museum will be host to a spooky array of historic “ghosts” and activities fit for any young mad scientist! This brand new, family friendly event is free to all, and will deliver a night of learning, exploration and spooky fun – just in time for halloween!

Night at the Museum: Living History will feature reenactors emulating some of transportation’s greatest pioneers! From the Wright brothers to Bertha Benz, children will delight in the stories these colorful, costumed characters share about their lives, and how their ingenious innovations shaped how we move through the world today.

Calling All Spooky Scientists! A fun-loving and slightly silly Mad Scientist will be leading experiments throughout the evening from her spooky STEM laboratory, leading young learners in activities which highlight science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Is there a young witch in your family? They might enjoy the broom flying station, where participants design their very own “broomstick” and launch it to see how far it can travel through air! Robotics wizards will enjoy the robot races, where Halloween-themed robots will be raced against an army of mummies!

Costumes encouraged! Who will you dress up for the Night at the Museum? We can’t wait to see the creative costumes you and your family dream up! If you’re saving your Halloween look for the big night on the 31st, just come as you are! There will be spooky treats and treasures for all of our guests!
