Rep. Collamore to seek re-election to Maine Legislature
PITTSFIELD — State Representative Amanda Collamore (R-Pittsfield) has announced she will seek re-election in the newly reapportioned House District 68.
The newly drawn district will include the communities of Pittsfield, Clinton, Burnham, and Troy.
Rep. Collamore is currently in her first term in the Legislature, serving on the Joint Standing Committee on Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement and Business.
“I am passionate about ensuring that decisions made in Augusta reflect the daily realities of my constituents trying to live day-to-day and plan for the future,” said Rep. Collamore. “Through a combination of legislative and community involvement, I believe I can continue to be an effective voice for our area. State government needs to support the ability of Maine citizens to contribute to our quality of life, not make it harder for them through over regulation and taxation.”
Collamore is a longtime Pittsfield resident, mother, small business owner and community volunteer associated with several area fundraising efforts, nonprofits, charities and organizations.
Those volunteer efforts include: The Fill the Cruiser Diaper Drive (held in collaboration with the Pittsfield PD, Somerset County Sheriff's Department, HealthySV, and KVCAP); The Fill the Cruiser Food Drive (held in collaboration with the Pittsfield PD, HealthySV, the Pittsfield Food Pantry, Puritan Medical Products, and Cianbro Corporation); The Good Shephard Food Bank of Maine's Farmers to Families Food Box Distribution event (in collaboration with Pittsfield PD, Pittsfield FD, HealthySV, and the Pittsfield Food Bank); and The American Cancer Society’s Relay from Life.
Rep. Collamore also recently served as a Pittsfield town councilor at-large, serving as the finance committee chairperson for two years. She has several interests outside of politics and community service including music, photography, baking, furniture design, crafting, and hiking.
She is a Maine Central Institute graduate who earned a degree in early childhood education at Kennebec Valley Community College and a bachelor’s from the University of Maine.
