Allen Insurance and Financial manager obtains license
CAMDEN — Kimberly Edgar, a group benefits account manager at Allen Insurance and Financial, has obtained her license to sell life, health, and other group insurance benefits programs in the state of Maine.
She studied for the state exam through Allen's in-house education program.
Edgar joined Allen Insurance and Financial in August 2014 and is based in the company's insured benefits division, located at 31 Chestnut Street in Camden.
She assists clients with questions about group benefits, including life, disability, dental, and health insurance.
Edgar lives in Lincolnville with her husband and son and their rescue dog.

Big Brothers Big Sisters announces new board member
ROCKPORT — Mark Breton of Rockport has been named to the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine.
Breton is a lifelong resident of Maine and has lived in the Midcoast community since 2008. Breton is the vice president of finance and operations for Cedarworks, Inc. of Rockport.
For the past two years, he has served on BBBSMM’s Golf Tournament Committee, where he helped grow the agency’s Midcoast “Golf Fore Kids’ Sake” fundraiser at the Samoset. He has also served on the Board Governance Committee and was chair of the Human Resources Committee.
He also serves as treasurer on the boards for both the PenBay Healthcare Foundation and the MidCoast Recreation Center.
Breton attended Thomas College in Waterville, where he earned a BS in management. He resides in Rockland with his partner, Gwendolyn Hudson, and their two girls, Isabella and Julia.
Big Brothers Big Sisters changes the lives of 600 children in Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Penobscot, Somerset and Waldo Counties facing adversity for the better, forever by providing strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships.

Fisher Engineering recognizes 28 employees at annual service awards
ROCKLAND — On Tuesday, April 7, Fisher Engineering held its annual service awards ceremony celebrating employees with five, 10, 15, 20 and 30 years of service. In all, 28 employees received recognition for their tenure. The event was held at the Owl's Head Transportation Museum.
Approximately 350 employees and retirees attended. All recipients were presented with awards by their supervisors.
In addition, another employee was recognized for his 46 years of service — the longest in Fisher Engineering history.
Shana Winchenbaugh joins La Combe salon
ROCKPORT — La Combe Full Service Salon at 1088 Commercial St., Rockport has hired Shana Winchenbaugh.
Stylist Shana Winchenbaugh has been in the beauty industry for more than 10 years specializing in hair color, foiling, updo's, cuts an styles. She has a passion for making every guest feel special and appreciated, according to a news release.
Winchenbaugh was born and raised in Knox county and when she's not at work, she is with her husband of 20 years as they raise their two girls. She is outgoing and befriends everyone she meets. Her philosophy in life is to meet all expectations her guest expects and to continue to balance family and work.
