Robert Maddox, obituary
PITTSTON – Robert W. Maddox, 86, died Dec. 5, 2014, at Maine Veterans Home in Augusta, after an extended illness.
Born in Warren, Pa., on April 6, 1928, he was the son of Gerald and Estelle Nelson Maddox. He attended local schools and after moving to Camden at a young age, was educated in Camden schools.
He was a U.S. Navy, World War II veteran.
For several years Bob lived in Wisconsin with his family and while there, worked as a welder.
Returning to Maine, he worked several years as a welder at Bath Iron Works.
For a few years, Bob lived at the Rankin Center in Rockland, where he cared for his mother during her final illness. For the past several years, Bob resided in Pittston with his fiancée, Arlene Ally.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Maddox Jr. He is survived by his fiancée; four sons, Dennis M. Maddox, Kenneth Maddox, Robert W. Maddox Jr. and Gerry Berndt; and a daughter, Linda Barzinsk, all of Wisconsin; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland. Spring interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Falmouth.
