BELFAST — Joan Johnson, 81, passed away March 2, 2015, at Belfast. She was born Sept. 7, 1933, in Norwood, Mass., to James and Dorothy (Jostin) Garland. Joan enjoyed collecting lighthouses, crocheting and most of all talking on the phone to her many friends in Massachusetts and Maine.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Karl S. Johnson; and a brother, Bernard. Survivors include her children, Gloria Seavey and her husband, John, of Searsport, Karl Johnson and his wife, Kellie, of Florida, William Johnson and his wife, Debbie, of Trenton, and James Johnson and his wife, Sandy, of Belfast; her brother, Robert Garland of Illinois; her sister, Judy Garland of Belfast; her grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Annette, Robert, Jennifer, Billy, Jessica, Tabitha, Justin, Chelsea, Elizabeth, Krystal and Arthur; many great-grandchildren and a very special friend, Ramona.

Private services will be held in the spring.
