Islesboro police beat
The Islesboro Police Department reported the following activity for the period of July 1 to July 7. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt.

• Silas Babbidge, 21, of Islesboro, was summonsed for pPossession of a usable amount of marijuana.
Special note: Islesboro police have received multiple complaints about motor vehicle violations, the biggest one being speeding. Drivers on the island might have noticed increased police presence on Main Road, between Durkees Store and Keller Point Road, and Main Road, between the library and Masonic lodge. Going forward there will be an implementation of zero tolerance with regard to these violations. For safety, please ensure all pedestrians, especially children, stay to the right when a vehicle is coming. There have been too many close calls this summer. Bicyclists are asked to also use safe practices in and around vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
