GRAY —The National Weather Service has updated its earlier forecast Wednesday night to include a high wind warning through 5 p.m. Thursday. The dense fog warning remains in effect tonight until midnight.

Winds will be from the southwest at 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph.

Winds are expected to increase overnight and the strongest winds are expected late Wednesday night through the daytime hours on Thursday.

Dense fog can cause lowered visibility — less than 1/4-mile — and drivers are urged to slow down, use headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead.

Occasional rain, with thunderstorms, is possible after 3 a.m., with widespread areas of fog before 1 a.m., then patchy fog after 3 a.m. The low will be around 47 degrees Fahrenheit. It will be windy, from the south, at 17-27 mph increasing to 30-40 mph. Winds could gust overnight as high as 60 mph.

Thursday morning will bring more shower activity, mainly before noon, with temperatures falling to around 40 by 5 p.m. Winds will continue from the south at 38-43 mph, decreasing to 24-29 mph in the afternoon, with gusts as high as 65 mph.

Thursday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 20 F, with west winds 21-26 mph and gusts as high as 45 mph. Sustained winds will decrease to 15-20 mph after midnight.

Friday will be partly sunny with a high near 28 F. There will continue to be winds from the west at around 16-18 mph. Friday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 10 F and northwest winds at 16-18 mph.
