Coast Guard ship Eagle to attend 2024 Maine Lobster Festival

The Rockland Coast Guard City Committee, in conjunction with the Maine Lobster Festival, announce the arrival of the United States Coast Guard Barque Eagle (WIX-327) during the 2024 festival. The Eagle is tentatively scheduled to arrive on Friday, August 2, 2024.

The Eagle will be moored at the Coast Guard Station Rockland. Arrival time and a visiting schedule will be provided at a later date.
 
The Eagle is a three masted 295 foot barque used as a training vessel for future Coast Guard officers. She is one of two active commissioned sailing vessels in the United States military. The other vessel is the United States naval vessel USS Constitution home ported in Boston Harbor. 
 
The Eagle is stationed at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. The Eagle is used to train Academy cadets, Officer Candidate students and other training requirements for both enlisted and officers.
